My story about AVATARS started with me thinking that maybe, by the end of it all, I would have added another few to the list of my characters, cartoons.. animations with gr8 looks, super features, strange unisex anime hair, eyes blah blah.... but strangely, and gladly rather, I have no characters, no products but only a little personal learning to share, some gyan, some stuff to preach ;)
I now strongly believe that we need Avatars... or superheroes... for support- moral, physical, mental, whatever! And for some kind of security and hope... to kill our loneliness! But the world needs them... it DOES... and not all have to wear underwear over their pants; yea not all can be funny too you know, the serious/shy ones are needed too, for the likes of my Dad!
So starts the search for the Avatar(s)... of course there wouldn't be just ONE! And they wont be on the TV or in the movies. I need to find someone 'REAL'. So, the search begins without much of a criteria in mind, but for tradition-sake the criteria would be:LOOKS, STRENGTH, PHYSIQUE, SELF-SACRIFICING, 'GOOD', POLITICAL... and lots more. But all of those are too relative to be the criteria for elimination and selection. And these should only make miracles happen... so, searching for an avatar with an exhaustive 'must haves' list is ruled out of my options list.
My next option is to NOMINATE-'AND THE NOMINATIONS IN THE CATEGORY OF THE BEST PERFORMING AVATAR ARE... 'These may not be annual awards but awards by the minute, or hourly or daily awards, and something very personal because each one of us might have at some time in their life forgotten to acknowledge someone else's sweet gestures, affection or help due to whatever reason.
Someone would have been an AVATAR for us in our hour of need... and if we choose to acknowledge it now, maybe we would find the AVATAR within ourselves too!
ACKNOWLEDGMENT- big word; bigger consequences!
My cook is an avatar for me because she starts my day with the best 'gudmorning' and the most lovable bed tea followed by a breakfast oozing with care and affection!
SO...lets make an effort to acknowledge and let these people know what difference they've made in their own way... because the truth is that WE ALL NEED TO KNOW THAT WE'RE APPRECIATED... to keep us going, to continue being good and to help us make that extra effort.
Now this way, the trophy for the 'ULTIMATE AVATAR' gets rolling and the effort to grab it may someday make this world a better place.
The Indian mythology says thats Avatars are the different forms of God on earth, who came when the world needed them in a form that the world could relate to! But with our endless discovery of Avatars on a daily basis and acknowledgment replacing the first point in our TO DO lists; JOAN OSBOURNE would NOW get the answer to "what if God was one of us"!
PS: if all this makes any sense to you, and you wish to acknowledge someone for what they've done... please mail your experience to me richy.jain@gmail.com.
I would love to post your experience on my blog and of course you may chose to be anonymous.
